Croatia at the Leipzig Book Fair from March 21st to March 24th, 2024

As in the past years, Croatian literature will once again be presented at the Leipzig Book Fair, held from March 21 to 24 in parallel with Manga-Comic-Con and the Leipzig Liest Reading Festival, which includes literary programs and citywide reading incentive programs.

The Croatian stand will display a selection of new books by contemporary Croatian authors – novelists and poets, interesting new books and picture books intended for children and young people, as well as comics, to present a rich domestic production and increase the interest of foreign publishers in Croatian literature.

As usual, various materials have been prepared for additional information for all visitors. All of them include details about the, a website designed specifically for the international promotion of Croatian literature, translation grants from the Ministry of Culture and Media for foreign publishers translating works by Croatian authors, as well as about literary residencies in Croatia.

Croatian literature shall be exhibited in Leipzig in cooperation with the international literary network Traduki, which every year organizes a rich program in which Croatian authors participate. This year, several programs will present new, exciting editions: German translations of My Dowry by Nora Verde (literary pseudonym of Antonela Marušić), and When I Was Counting Pink Robots by Edo Popović. Both titles were recently published in German translation by renowned publishers, and we believe that through these presentations they will arouse even greater interest from the German readership.
