Sons, Daughters by Croatian author Ivana Bodrožić shortlisted for the prestigious Premio Rapallo

Sons, Daughters, a novel by Croatian author Ivana Bodrožić has been shortlisted for the European edition of the prestigious Premio Rapallo BPER Banca 2023!

The Rapallo Prize celebrates Italian female authors since 1985. This year, for the first time in history, an international category has been introduced, focused on the authors from 27 EU countries: along with Bodrožić, the finalists are Catherine Dunne, Najat El Hatchmi, Annie Ernaux, Amelie Nothomb, Helga Schubert and Tatiana Tibuleac. The jury, including Nadia Terranova and Eva Cantarella, will announce the laureate at the Rapallo ceremony on November 11th.

Sellerio published the Italian edition of this critically acclaimed novel, translated by Estera Miočić, at the end of August 2023. It was launched at the Festival di letterature in Mantova in September and has already been selected by La Repubblica among the Top 10 notable books of the week.

In the USA, Sons, Daughters will be published by Seven Stories Press in January 2024, in translation by Ellen Elias-Bursać.

First published in Croatian in 2022, it won the coveted Meša Selimović Award for the Best Novel in the region, was shortlisted for the tportal Award for the Best Novel, received stellar reviews from critics and readers alike – currently in its 4th reprint, among bestselling titles in Croatia since publication.
